Food Drive to Support The Light House Friday and Saturday at the Meet
July 17th
We are swimming at Hunt Meadow this Saturday, our last dual meet of the season. Their team is inviting us to help them restock the Light House. Please consider bringing something to donate to practice tomorrow (French Toast Friday 7/18) or to the meet on Saturday.
From our hosts:
Hi, Indian Hills!
One additional note, we have a fundraiser going on at our meet on Saturday and wanted to invite your swimmers to participate if they wish! Run by one of our high school swimmers, see below for details! Looking forward to a fun meet!
At the meet, we will be collecting food to help restock the Annapolis Light
House’s Food Pantry. The Light House distributes over 2,800 pounds of perishable
and non-perishable food to individuals and families in Anne Arundel County each
week. Summer is a time of great need for the pantry as incoming donations tend to
be less. We would love to have your help with this effort. There will be a collection
table at the pool entrance starting at 6:30AM on meet day. Each swimmer who
donates during the meet will receive a treat as a thank you. Here is a list of their
most needed items: cases of water, cereal (especially sweetened), oatmeal, masa
(corn flour), beans (especially black beans), rice (long grain), canned tomatoes
(diced, whole, stewed), pasta sauce, pasta noodles, mac and cheese, canned fruits
and fruit cups, individual snacks (like chips, pretzels, cookies), breakfast bars,
granola bars, trail mix, and shelf stable milk (please see this link about what shelf stable milk is needed). Thank you for being a Light for the Light House!
